Short Description
Carrie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and marriage and family issues. With over 30 years of experience, Carrie is well-equipped to provide clients with information, skills, and support to improve their lives and relationships. Carrie worked for 17 years for LDS Family Services before entering private practice. Her favorite way to work is Christ-centered, family-friendly, and spiritually resonant with the beliefs and perspectives of each client. She enjoys providing practical skills, insights, and resources to help clients improve their lives and relationships - building hope, connection, and meaning.
Carrie is the author of "Your Happiness Toolkit: 16 Strategies for Overcoming Depression, and Building a Joyful, Fulfilling Life," and its accompanying workbook and audiobook. She also manages an online resource library, CounselingLibrary.org, as a public service, providing information and resources on a range of topics including emotional healing, relationship repair, and wellness building. She uses handouts, books, and other resources from this website to augment and extend the benefits of therapy with her clients.
Carrie taught for 25 years at BYU Education Week, on topics such as "Christ-Centered Healing from Depression," "Creating Joyful Family Relationships," and "Building Emotional Wellness." Carrie enjoys speaking to church and community groups, often including original music in her presentations to engage listeners and increase emotional understanding of the topics presented.
Carrie believes in the power of the individual to generate positive change, from the inside out - not just to improve their own personal lives, but to heal family relationships - even complex intergenerational patterns.
